If you are interested in playing league chess or simply wish to play social chess you will be very welcome! We meet on Wednesdays from 7 pm.
In order to join the club you need to be a member of the Coleshill Social Club, this will cost you approximately £30. The fee to be a league playing member of the chess club is £75 and under 18s are charged £25. In addition, league playing members are required to pay their own ECF fee, which is currently £21. Members not wishing to play league chess pay £25. New members pay nothing on their first visit and £2 for each subsequent visit.
Coleshill Social Club fees last for twelve months from the day of joining. Chess Club full fees are payable by the last day of May or half by the last day of May and the residue by the last day of September. A pro rata rate will be charged for new members joining after the last day of June. Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or Bank Transfer.
The overall membership will therefore cost in the region of £125. Over the course of the year this equates to £2.40 per week for some of the best playing conditions in the league and an extremely friendly club.

Yet another busy week with the club playing four matches in a variety of competitions. It all started on Tuesday 24th February 2026 with the Coventry League Division 2 team travelling to play Nuneaton 'B' in a rehearsal of the KO Cup Final to be played on the 10th March. Honours were even in a 2 - 2 draw, the Coleshill team was Paul Roper, Ray Bettam, Steve Judd and Eamon Murphy. The following evening the BDCL Minor Division team entertained the current league leaders Solihull 'A'. The visitors left with a 2.5 to 0.5 victory against Rob Payne, Gary Haycock and Chris Hubbocks. There were two matches on Thursday 26th February with the BDCL Division 4 team of Paul Roper, Graham Barrett, Ray Bettam, Richard Bailey and Geoff Stokes being beaten 3 - 2 in the Semi Final of the Townshend Trophy at South Birmingham also from Division 4. Meanwhile at Lichfield, the BDCL Division 5B team were beaten 3 - 1 by league leaders Lichfield. Coleshill were represented by Gary Haycock, Malcolm Jones, Des Green and Ethan Murphy.
